Hi! My name is Marj Huber and I'd like to tell you about our store, how it came to be, and some of the items and services we have to offer.

Outstamping Designs opened its doors in 1993 in Valley Junction, an historical district in West Des Moines, Iowa. Valley Junction is home to specialty shops, antique stores, and restaurants, so Outstamping Designs with its rubber art stamps, fit right in. When we opened, we had 800 square feet of space and we thought it was huge. Rubber stamping wasn't a very well-known art for in 1993 and Outstamping Designs was the first store in the Midwest devoted exclusively to rubber stamps and stamping supplies. We grew. Quickly!

In less than a year we moved to a 3000 square foot store just up the street. Through advertising, classes, speaking engagements, and word-of-mouth, people from all over Iowa and surrounding states were coming to "that store with only rubber stamps and stamping supplies."

As rubber stamping became more popular, more merchandise became available and we soon filled the space with one exception, a small area we left for a new interest we heard about and were interested in... scrapbooking. As people became more interested in creative ways to preserve their family memories, photographs, and documents in scrapbooks, the space in the store had become much too small. As fate would have, a building right across the street was for sale. We bought it and Heirlooms by Design, Iowa's largest scrapbook store, was born.

Three years later, we have remodeled and combined the two stores, Outstamping Designs and Heirlooms by Design, under one roof. 7500 square feet of stamps and scrapbook supplies! We pride ourselves in having over 15,000 rubber stamps, hundreds of accessories, brass stencils and embossing templates. We have a complete selection of scrapbooks from several companies, thousands of scrapbooking stickers and decorative papers to choose from. We order from nearly 200 companies to give our customers the choice and selection they want and deserve. We will special-order what you want. No hassle. No minimum.
